However, priority will be given to Doctoral course students (DC) and post-doctors (PD) (PD).
Master's degree students (MC) and undergraduate (BC) are also accepted.
*This seminar will be conducted in Japanese only.
We have invited three people who have completed doctoral programs in the humanities and social sciences and are now active in a variety of fields, including in companies and public institutions. They will talk about how the knowledge and education they gained at graduate school is being utilized in society, and about the realities and appeal of practical work that is rarely encountered at university.

Graduated from the Graduate School of Global Studies, Sophia University, Doctoral course in Area Studies
Title: "The Choice of Not Doing Research -- From the Perspective of Research Support"

In graduate school, he researched the social economy of Tunisia, and joined the Institute of Developing Economies as a research manager while enrolled in Doctoral course. He gained experience in tasks such as supporting the acquisition of research grants, managing and administering research funds, promoting research collaboration, and strengthening international networks. He currently works in charge of public relations at the institute, where he is involved in tasks that connect research and society, such as disseminating research results to society, planning and producing web content, and building relationships with various stakeholders such as media personnel and local communities.

Title: "Possibilities outside of research - Recognizing and using the strengths cultivated through research as a weapon"

In 2012, he entered the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Science, Division 2. He went on to the Faculty of Letters, majoring in psychology, graduating in 2016. After working as a national civil servant as a new graduate, he entered the Graduate School of Letters at Hokkaido University University in 2017. His research field is cognitive psychology. His main theme is visual attention, with facial attractiveness as a sub-theme. He was selected as a JSPS Research Fellow (DC1) for his doctoral studies. He obtained Ph.D. in 2021, and continues to do so to the present.

Sophia University Graduate School of Human Sciences, Department of Psychology, Doctoral course (Psychology)
Title: "Utilizing humanities and social science research in private companies"

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Completed Doctoral course studies in psychology at the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Sophia University in 2011. Specializes in experimental psychology. PhD (psychology). After working at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Overseas Research Fellow) and Nagasaki University (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor), he joined Yamaha Motor in 2014. Currently, as the group leader of the Human Science Lab Group, he promotes humanities and social sciences research focusing on humans, society, and culture.
