• I was able to hear specific details about the processes the speakers went through to reach their current careers, which sparked my interest in areas I had not been aware of before.
• It was great to hear from someone who is currently walking the path between being a researcher and working in a non-research field. This motivated me to continue my job search, as it made me want to do research on companies like this.
• He had been considering a career other than research in the future, but I had never really heard him talk about why he chose a career other than research after getting a doctorate, or what kind of work he ended up doing, so I was glad to have the opportunity to hear about it this time.
• I got a good idea of what it's like to be a psychologist working in a company, and I learned about the appeal of corporate research. I also found the career path of "achieving success in corporate research and then returning to academia" very informative.
