Participant comments

  • I was able to hear about the actual career paths and stories of the few liberal arts doctoral students I have. I also had the opportunity to talk to them directly at the networking event.
  • I was considering going on to a doctorate and was worried about finding a job in academia, but the speakers shared their experiences and told me that even with a doctorate, it is possible to contribute to society by working as a researcher in a private company, and that even if you cannot directly use your specialized knowledge, it is possible to choose a career path that aligns with your own personal goals by applying the skills you already have.
  • I learned that there are activities to match doctoral students with private companies, even in the humanities. I learned that it is important to have opportunities for direct interaction, such as Internship.
  • I realized that if I could find a company and job type that suited me and make use of my experience in the graduate program, there would be many possibilities for me to succeed outside of academia.
