Participant comments
- I learned that the role of the facilitator is not to make decisions but to lead the meeting, and that it is important to listen carefully and to prepare in advance. It was also good to experience group work and receive feedback from other participants.
- I would like to utilize this in group discussions during my job hunting. I would also like to use it as a hidden facilitator in discussions with professors in the lab, and in my private time as well, while keeping in mind to listen attentively.
- I would like to try to act as a hidden facilitator in meetings and seminar discussions to make the time more meaningful.
- There were many examples of facilitation skills in practice, which I felt I had acquired, and it was great to see that by having multiple discussions, we were asked to do better than the previous time. It was helpful to learn that facilitation requires preparation, which was something I had never done before. In meetings where I actually prepared, the points of discussion were clearer and I felt that the meetings proceeded smoothly.
