Giving effective presentations is an essential part of sharing scientific work and appeals to a wide range of audiences, contributing to your career progression. Here, we share tips of how we can structure effective presentations by discussing the following topics. This seminar mainly targets graduate students and postdocs who have opportunities to present their research in conferences and thesis defense.

• Why should we get interested in preparing effective presentations?
• How can we design “good looking” slides?
• How can we make our messages stand out and easily understood?
• Q&A session

Structuring what you want to say in the presentation is the process to review your research project and revisit ideas. This basic skill you learn here can immediately be applicable to other contexts, such as writing research grants and job-hunting activities in both academia and industry.

*You can receive feedback from the instructor on the slides you’ve created (up to 2 slides per person).
If you wish to do so, please upload your file by November 30, to the URL sent to you via email after registration.
Please only upload content/page that can be publicly shared, as it may be used as a case study during the seminar.
