"SynFOSTER 2015" Symposium on Developing Young Talent was held!

The "SynFOSTER 2015" Symposium on Nurturing Young Talent was held at Hokkaido University Conference Hall on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
The main theme of this symposium is the "Construction of a Collaborative Doctoral Research Human Resources Comprehensive Development System" project by Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, and Nagoya University. This project was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Consortium Construction Project for Science and Technology Human Resource Development (Program for Nurturing the Next Generation of Researchers)" that started in 2014. The three universities, Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, and Nagoya University, have formed a "consortium" with the aim of pooling their research human resource development resources to build a next generation research human resource development system targeting a variety of fields.
SynFOSTER 2015 program consisted of four parts: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
The first part of the event began with greetings from Hokkaido University, Ito of Tohoku University, and Kunieda of Nagoya University each gave an introduction to their own universities' young researcher development projects and the significance of the consortium project, allowing the attendees to deepen mutual understanding of each university's initiatives.
In the second part, the two coordinators who are the driving force behind the practical aspects of the consortium project gave a report on the current status of activities and future initiatives, followed by presentations by young researchers who were the targets of the project on research and aspirations, and a panel discussion by young researchers from the three universities. The panel discussion saw lively opinions being expressed by the audience, leading to in-depth discussions.
The third and fourth parts of the event were held at the Centennial Memorial Hall, where a poster session and information exchange session on the development of young talent was held. There was also an opportunity for interaction between those involved in the development of young researchers at Hokkaido University and those involved in the consortium project at Nagoya University and Tohoku University.
As you can see, SynFOSTER 2015 was packed with content, and with the participation of many participants from the three universities, it ended in great success.
