Participant comments
- The lecture, aimed at master's students, was very clear about 1) the wide variety of career options available after completing a doctorate, and 2) advice on what to do (starting now). I felt it was extremely useful for students considering pursuing a doctorate. While many people are anxious about the uncertainty of their careers after completing their doctorate, the lecture provided specific guidance on what to do, and helped students clarify not only their annual schedules, but also what they need to do on a monthly and even daily basis.
- I found it helpful to learn that because we can only consider our careers within the scope of what we anticipate, we need to continuously gather information and consider various career paths.
- I found it helpful to learn what companies looking to hire PhDs expect from them, and how those skills can be acquired during a doctoral program.
