Participant comments
Researcher
- I had thought that a high level of expertise was required for job hunting as a PhD holder, but I realized that many companies also value research execution ability and initiative. Therefore, I wanted to find a company where I could utilize my skills and way of thinking, regardless of my undergraduate major or field of study.
- By speaking directly with company representatives, I was able to grasp company characteristics that I couldn't learn from their websites or online information sessions. As a result, I also gained a clearer idea of how to promote myself.
- This time the focus was mainly on biochemistry, but I'd like to participate in meetings that aren't limited to a specific field.
- This has boosted my motivation for job hunting. Thank you for giving me this valuable opportunity.
- I realized that there are more companies that need my expertise and are a good match for me than I had imagined. I also realized that a challenge for my future job search is my lack of ability to effectively communicate my expertise and personality.
Enterprise
- This was my first time participating, and I was very pleased to see how actively the students participated. They explained their research clearly to me, a member of HR, and I could tell they had prepared thoroughly.
- After reviewing their posters and presentations about themselves and their research, I felt that they had spent a considerable amount of time preparing. I also felt that each of them possesses the ability to perform well in private companies.
- I was impressed by the seriousness and enthusiasm of the doctoral students. I felt it was a very well-prepared event.
- I felt the poster session was too short. The students were very proactive in approaching me, so I would have liked to see more of their work.
