Participant comments

Researcher
  • I now have a clearer idea of whether I want to get a job or continue my research in academia.
  • Every time I attend, my perspective on the industry I want to work in broadens. When I actually hear about the work, I learn that there are many businesses and initiatives that I was not aware of. I was also able to talk to companies in a relaxed manner, less nervous than when I attended Akaiito-Kai last time. Initially, my image of communicating with companies was that "I'm being evaluated" and "I have to make sure I don't make any mistakes," but I realized that it is a dialogue to align the direction each party is heading and what they want to do.
  • I was able to learn what corporate human resources and researchers are thinking when they conduct recruitment and research activities.
  • I realized that there were still many business areas and work styles that I was unfamiliar with, and that doctoral candidates were in demand in unexpected places.
  • I realized that what I had assumed was something a doctoral student should be able to do was actually one of my strengths.
Enterprise
  • This was my first time participating, but I thought it was a meaningful initiative that conveyed the appeal of the students. The students were very proactive, calling out to company members and directing them to the posters.
  • I think that the "Akaiito-Kai" is one of the most highly-polished doctoral events out there.
  • I feel that the students who participate in events hosted by the 13 universities in the consortium, including Akaiito-Kai, receive thorough guidance from their universities. Compared to students I meet elsewhere, I notice a big difference, especially in their communication skills.
  • I am very happy to have been able to meet such high quality students.
